Our Story

Welcome to the world of Covenant Bridal. Our gowns and story are a journey and celebration across continents, cultures, people and stories.

In late 2022, on a trip through the Middle East and Africa, our owner/maker, Laura, found herself wandering the streets of Tel Aviv. It was here she literally stumbled upon her textile fantasy land. Tel Aviv is home to the world’s leading bridal couture designers—Inbal Dror, Berta, Galia Lahav and a list that could take up half this page. As Laura stepped foot into the textile house, it instantly made sense why these designers are the leaders in the industry. The materials were stunning. After hours of looking at all the beauty (and initially being too nervous to even touch the delicate lace), she made a small purchase for her own (one day) dream dress.

Six months later, after being unable to stop thinking about the textiles and her life-long dream of being a fashion designer, Laura walked back into the store— but this time entirely on purpose. Now she entered as an aspiring bridal designer and founder of a new Australian bridal label: Covenant Bridal.

Covenant Bridal was conceived on that divine and unexpected day in Tel Aviv and has been bubbling away in our tropical Darwin studio for the last two years. In 2023 CB had a soft launch and released our sell-out collection of silk occasional wear, featuring more stunning fabric from Laura’s travels. For this initial collection, Laura hand-selected artisan materials from neighbouring Indonesia—now the signature marker of our bridesmaid collection. Each bridesmaid collection features a limited-edition colour run and batik silk prints.

In 2024 we are so excited to finally release our debut bridal collection, ‘Covenant.’ Covenant is an ode to our tropical home in Northern Australia and is a marriage of classic and timeless silhouettes with exquisite fabric from the Middle East and Indonesia.
